The History of The Green Connection 1991 Paul T. Nielsen founds The Green Connection, the one and only - the original "Green" company Launched product offerings: ORGANIC DARK MULCH 100% natural. Pauly Kid's original innovation remains #1 best seller after 19 years! COMPOST a leaf compost, an all natural 1/2" screened product SUPERLOAM 1/2" screened loam mixed with compost, an all natural product 1992 Owner, Paul T. Nielsen, of The Green Connection successfully obtains a permit from the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) to operate as a commercial composting facility at 108 Stockbridge Road, Scituate, MA. The vision of green waste recyling begins. 1996 The Green Connection incorporates and files articles of organization with the Commonwealth of MA 2000 Paul T. Nielsen engages a broker to recruit an investor to provide The Green Connection, Inc. resources for growth while affording Mr. Nielsen the opportunity to continue the development of innovative and value added recycled products. 2002 Paul T. Nielsen with a goal of expansion, grants permission for a new corporate entity, a Limited Liability Company (LLC), to use his company name: The Green Connection. Mr. Nielsen also authorized the new entity to operate using his DEP composting permit and to continue to conduct the main operations of the business on his family land. Articles of organization for The Green Connection LLC are filed with the Commonwealth of MA; Mr. Nielsen becomes co-member of the LLC and retains 50% ownership of the newly formed company. 2003 Paul T. Nielsen voluntarily dissolves the corporate entity known as The Green Connection, Inc. to pursue his endeavor with The Green Connection LLC. Introduction of the first color enhanced mulch "PAT" BLACK formerly known as Jet Black 2008 The Massachusetts domestic corporate entity known as The Green Connection, Inc. is revived and continues to focus on sustainability and green waste recycling. Paul T. Nielsen files an application to trademark his company name: The Green Connection ™. Paul T. Nielsen, individually as co-owner and member of the LLC dissolves the LLC. 2009 The Green Connection ®, Inc. successfully obtains its registered trademark. Launching four more of Pauly Kid's value added recyled products: VEGE BLEND a custom blend of all natural soil amendments TRIPLE GROUND BROWN an all natural, brown mulch line COLOR ME MULCH a custom, color enhanced mulch with a rainbow of colors to choose from RED CEDAR BLEND a color enhanced mulch line using native cedar 2010 Introduction of a new 2010 exclusive product offering: MOOO POO, an organic composted cow manure from northern New England, Organic Material Review Institute (OMRI) listed 2011 marks our 20th anniversary!
